#yegmusicclub presents… a secret house concert.

by nicole on September 5, 2011

Sept 18, 2011 : 8PM. $15
Downtown Edmonton.
By invitation only, so if you don’t know me (Nicole) or Rob, I suggest you get to :)

Mark your calendars, friends. I’m throwing a house concert (with the generous help of Rob, who is allowing us to take over his space- sadly, my apartment would fit me and the band and that’s it).

As of right now, the band in question is hush-hush. We have our reasons for keeping it quiet, but if you must know, get a hold of me and I’ll explain. We’ll release the info the day of, but in the meantime, trust me that this will be a killer show. Bring your dancing socks (because we’ll be in someone’s living room and we’re Canadian).

Why a house concert? Well, for starters, for us it’s a great way to see live music: up close and personal. And musicians are usually pretty fun to party with. For the band? Sometimes when touring there are nights in between shows that are dead zones where the musicians have to pay for hotels and expenses. Touring across Canada ain’t cheap. A house concert allows the band to make a bit of cash (all the $ goes to them) and usually they get a homemade meal and a place to crash (if they need). This is what we call win-win.
